(NewsNation) — President-elect Donald Trump is returns to the White House Monday as the second president to serve two non-consecutive terms.
Trump has not said he wants to live anywhere else The White House. It has seven presidents stayed elsewhere during their administrations in varying periods, most of which occurred due to renovations.
Where will Melania live during Trump’s presidency?
Trump’s wife, Melania, and teenage son, Barron, are expected to stay put The White House in various capacities, the latter attending NYU in Manhattan.
Melania said Fox News in an interview on January 13 that she will divide her time between Washington, DC, New York and Florida.
“I want to be in the White House. And when I’m going to be in New York, I’m going to be in New York,” Melania said. “When I’m going to be in Palm Beach, I want to be in Palm Beach. My first priority is to be a mother, to be first lady, to be a wife.”

Melania explained that returning to the White House would be far easier than moving to DC during Trump’s first term.
“The first time was challenging. We didn’t have a lot of the information,” she said. “But this time I have everything … I’ve already picked out the furniture that’s going in, so it’s a very different transition this time.”
Where will Barron live during Trump’s presidency?
As for Barron, Melania told Fox that he would visit the White House but primarily stay in New York like most NYU students.
“I think he’ll come and visit,” she said.
President Joe Biden and his family will leave the White House Monday morning; Melania told Fox they have five hours to move out.
Trump and his family’s belongings will be moved into the White House after the inauguration ceremony.
