Why is LeBron James missing from the Lakers? Here is the answer.

After missing earlier this week, Los Angeles Lakers superstar LeBron James is expected to miss another game on Friday.

The 39-year-old four-time NBA Finals MVP did not play on Dec. 8 against the Portland Trail Blazers. He’s also unlikely for Dec. 13 against Minnesota on Friday.

James was excused from practice for personal reasons on Wednesday, on ESPN. Here’s more from head coach JJ Reddick, who added further context as to why:

“LeBron is not with the team right now,” Lakers coach JJ Reddick said after practice. “He’s out for personal reasons, excused absence … Hell, if somebody wants to go spend a few nights in Santa Barbara and relax, that’s fine, too,” Redick said after the Blazers game. “It’s a quarter of the way through the season.”

He is reportedly “taking a while” after missing the last race due to leg pain.

While his name has recently been involved in trade rumors, they were quickly rejected.
