The Indian women’s cricket team is currently playing a 3-match ODI series against Women in Ireland. The encounter against Ireland has been a pleasant experience so far with the Indian team eyeing another series white-wash. However, more than the victories, the series was historic in the sense that many records were broken and new milestones were set for the Indian women during the matches against the Irish team.

The ace women top-order batter managed to achieve the milestone of scoring a century off 98 balls against Women of the West Indies during the second ODI of the series at The Vadodara International Cricket Stadium. The 26-year-old came to the crease after a 110-run partnership for the opening wicket between Smriti Mandhana and Practice Rawal. Deol went on to score 115 runs for the team in the match which enabled the Indian women to reach a total of 358 runs in 50 overs.

The young middle order batter Jemimah Rodrigues lived up to the expectations of the fans from her and hit a storming ton against Irelanad women during the 2nd ODI of the series. His emphatic innings of 102 runs helped the Indian team reach a total of 370 runs in their 50 overs and grab a series deciding victory against the Irish team.

The seasoned Indian batter Harmanpreet Kaur achieved a historic milestone of scoring a ton in 90 balls during the 2017 Women’s ODI World Cup and played a key role in India’s 36-run win over Australia women in the semi -world cup finals. Kaur strengthened India’s innings after dismissing opener Mandhana and Punam Raut. The former Indian captain Mitali Raj was also sent back to the pavilion early. Kaur then came to the crease and thanks to her emphatic 171 runs from 115 balls the Indian women’s team scored 281 runs in their 42 overs in a rain-soaked battle.
2. Harmanpreet Kaur (87 balls):
Kaur once again proved her mettle, this time as the team’s skipper, by scoring a century off 87 balls during the second ODI of the 3-match series against South Africa women in the M .Chinnaswamy Stadium in Bengaluru. Kaur stood firm at the crease to build a long partnership with Mandhana and managed to remain unbeaten to lead the Indian women to a mammoth 325/3 in their 50 overs.
1. Smriti Mandhana (70 balls):
In the third and final match of the series against Ireland, Mandhana broke the previous fastest ton in limited overs cricket for Indian women and took the top spot by scoring a remarkable 100 in just 70 balls. His 135-run innings was star studded with 12 boundaries and 7 towering sixes with a strike-rate of 168.75.
