Missing woman Hannah Kobayashi found safe: family

(NewsNation) — The family of missing Hawaii woman Hannah Kobayashi said in a statement that she has been found safe.

“We are incredibly relieved and grateful that Hannah has been found safe and sound. The past month has been incredibly trying for our family and we kindly ask for your privacy while we take time to heal and process everything, what we’ve been through,” the statement said.

Kobayashi was reported missing after she failed to board a connecting flight during her trip from Hawaii to New York. She was seen in a few places in Los Angeles before she disappeared, sparking a search.

Police later announced that Kobayashi intentionally missed her flight, believing she had traveled to Mexico of her own volition.

No further information on her whereabouts has been released.
