Luigi Mangione’s notebook referred to the assassination of the UnitedHealthcare CEO

A notebook found with Luigi Mangione It has a description of killing a CEO which matches his alleged details the murder of UnitedHealthcareCEO who was in New York last week, NBC News reported on Wednesday.

“You take down the CEO at the annual bean-picking convention,” the note reads. “It’s accurate, and it doesn’t put innocent people at risk.”

The notebook was discovered when the Ivy League graduate was arrested Monday in Altoona, Pennsylvania, after police found a gun, a silencer and ammunition in a backpack he was carrying at a local McDonald’s.

NBC reported Wednesday that fingerprints taken from Mangione match fingerprints found near the Hilton hotel in midtown Manhattan, UnitedHealthcare CEO. Brian Thompson he was shot on December 4.

It was previously reported that Mangion also had a handwritten note with him, which read in part, “These parasites just came,” when he was arrested in Altoona.

In a statement that said she was not “working with anyone,” she added, “I apologize for any conflict or trauma, but it had to be done.”

The announcement drew criticism from UnitedHealthcare, the US healthcare industry and corporations.

Mangion, who holds two degrees from the University of Pennsylvania, has suffered from severe back pain for years.

UnitedHealthcare, the largest private payer of health insurance benefits in the US, has been criticized for denying customer claims.

Mangione is being held without bond in Pennsylvania on state firearms and forgery charges related to his arrest. The forgery charge relates to the alleged possession of false identification documents, including one used to check into a shelter on Manhattan’s Upper West Side nearly two weeks before Thompson’s death.

He is charged with murder and weapons offenses in Manhattan.

At a hearing Tuesday in Blair County Court, Mangion refused to be extradited to New York to face charges in Thompson’s murder.

The Manhattan District Attorney’s Office and New York Gov. Kathy Hochul said they will file the necessary paperwork for a Pennsylvania judge to decide whether to order Mangione’s extradition.
