wholesaler Costco is scoring high online. The company said on Thursday that e-commerce sales at its peak last quarter compared to the same period of the year they increased by 13%. The company beat Wall Street estimates on both the top and bottom lines for the first fiscal quarter of 2025. Revenue and net income were up year-over-year, driven in part by higher member fees.

FAA chief Michael Whitaker will leave his position on January 20. The top aviation regulator was appointed by President Joe Biden to a five-year term in October 2023, but will step down when Trump takes office. It comes at a time of increased FAA oversight of aircraft manufacturers Boeing. “You’ve seen leadership come and go, and through every transition you’ve kept air travel stable and safe. This transition will be no different,” Whitaker said in a statement.
Lindsey Hyams, 23, of Marlboro, NJ, likes to shop online, but she often goes to the mall to shop. She said she likes to avoid the wait for online shopping to arrive and the hassle of collecting returns.

It’s generation Z all about the mall. Cohorts, a growing spending power, are shopping in brick-and-mortar stores at the same rate as their grandparents, breaking with the generations in between and seemingly defying their digital tendencies. The trend is beneficial for malls, which have begun to cater specifically to teenagers and twenty-somethings with in-store features and experiences.
