Ex Wimbledon finalist is rushed to hospital after suffering a freak injury while playing pickleball.
30-year-old Eugenie Bouchard from Canada is a professional tennis star, but she also plays pickleball, which is a game that combines elements of badminton, tennis and table tennis and can be played indoors or outdoors.

Taking to Instagram, the star told her 2.3 million followers: “I got hit in the eye with a pickleball during practice today.
“It was a handle from my partner’s oar right in the eye. I went to the ER and I have a scratched cornea.
“The things we do for this sport! It will be cured in a few days.
The posts were accompanied by two photos of the star – one showing her swollen eye, which was a closer look, and the other showing a thumbs up while putting on an eye patch.
