Latrell Mitchell is building a new physique for the 2025 NRL season and gave followers a sneak peak of his transformation in a quirky video promoting his own line of budgie smugglers.
The South Sydney Rabbitohs full-back endured a turbulent 2024 season, including injuries, suspensions and finally a one-match suspension after being photographed in a hotel room with a bag of mysterious white powder.
It’s Mitchell determined to prove his commitment to returning trainer Wayne Bennett and has reportedly already shed 5kgeven removing his home bar and replacing it with a private gym as he quit alcohol.
Now he is showing the fruits of his labor.
Mitchell has his own fashion label called Winmarra and released the video to promote his new range of locally themed budgie booties with a little help from his Souths teammate Jai Arrow.
Budgie Smugglers, for the uninitiated, are extremely small swim briefs that don’t leave much to the imagination.

Mitchell and Arrow were pictured at the Souths full-back’s farm in various positions, chatting about the heat.
“Hey Trell…damn it’s hot,” Arrow begins in the video.
“Yeah, she’s warm, hey,” Mitchell replies, opening a can.
“No, she’s not cold, is she?” The arrow says.
The clip then starts to get a little low-key, with Mitchell getting on a tractor and saying, “Who put the damn heater on? My shit.
“Damn stinkin’ isn’t it?” Arrow continues, exchanging a bale of hay for a cold one from him.
The video continues in the same vein, with the pair opening boxes and commenting on the heat in their tiny swim trunks.
“Hotter than a bull sack in here,” says Mitchell.

Mitchell has been on a self-imposed drinking ban since his controversial 2024 season, but fans can rest easy, it doesn’t look like he’s fallen off the wagon.
Although the video suggests the duo are drinking beer, upon closer inspection it looks like they’re more likely tossing cans of Mount Franklin soda.
The video caught the attention of at least one Souths teammate, with Cody Walker joking that he hadn’t missed Arrow in pre-season training.
“I got over @jaiarrow’s voice,” he posted.
“Still the grouse’s content.”
Mitchell won’t be sanctioned by the league for the F-bombs in the clip, but his mouth has caused trouble before.
After losing their second game in a row to start 2024 NRL season, Mitchell was interviewed and revealed his feelings about the club’s 28-18 loss to the Brisbane Broncos.
“Look, to be honest, it was a hell of a thing,” he began.

The Southern star is pulling out all the stops to impress returning trainer Wayne Bennett (pictured together) this year at Redfern
“It was just a tough game at the beginning, damn it, we showed what we’re about.
“Honestly, they’re big guys, they’re competitors. You wonder why they were runners-up last year, so hell we can build on that.
“I don’t care if I swear, guys, honestly.”
Triple M host Dan Guinan had to quickly end the interview, thanking Mitchell for his time.
“You can leave an expletive or two, but that was too much,” he said on air.
NRL fans were not impressed, the league privately admonished Mitchell for his behavior and South Sydney introduced a swear jar to deal with the matter.
