Ange Postecoglou maddened Timo Werner for his performance after taking the German international off at half-time against Rangers.
Werner was replaced Deyan Kulusevski who saved a point for Tottenham with a late equalizer at Ibrox.
“He wasn’t playing anywhere near the level he should have been,” Postecoglou said when asked if the change was tactical. “When you have 18-year-olds, that’s not acceptable to me. I told Timo that.

“We need them to play their part. Especially the older guys. When I ask younger guys to do a huge job. I expect a level of performance from some of the senior boys. And today was not that.
All in all, the Spurs boss was satisfied with a point.
“We weren’t close to our best,” Postecoglou said. “Whether the result is fair or not, others will judge.
“But in the run of games we’re going through, with a depleted squad wanting players to step up week in and week out, it’s a good result.
“In the context of where we are in Europe, with the next games in the New Year giving us a chance to be in a better place, I think that’s a pretty good point. We will look at this as an important moment.”
