What can you do with 20p? Not much, you’d think, in modern British economy. You can’t even buy a Freddo.

Well, one fan managed to turn his 20p into almost £1,200 after making a huge Bet Builder on this week Champions League action.

The lucky bettor made a 16 leg bet on several matches Aston Villathe trip of RB Leipzig and the clash of Atalanta with Real Madrid on Tuesday evening.

Against the odds, all the elements of their venture came through and they celebrated a payout of £1,173.39 from Paddy Power.

Both Villa and Madrid managed 3-2 wins and that proved particularly useful for the Englishmen, who are now fifth in the league stage standings.

Ross Barkley provided the winning goal for Villa in the 85th minute and due to Paddy Power’s Super Sub offer, the fan was able to count this as Yuri Tielemans Shot on target after the Englishman replaced him.

The Super Sub rule supports the bet even if a player’s selection is removed – after all, they can still come in and score a winner.

Both teams to score and over 2.5 goals were easy bankers on the night and John McGinn’s early goal hit a key market for a score or assist.

The two goalkeepers also did their part, as Emiliano Martinez made the required 3+ saves and his opponent Peter Gulaski made 4+.

However, the real piece of brilliance came via the Super Sub when John Duran netted from the bench to finish off Ollie Watkins 2+ shots on target leg – along with Barkley’s heroics.

Things were a little simpler in Italy as Kylian Mbappe, Vinicius Junior and Jude Bellingham stepped up with goals in Bergamo, landing their Shot on Target feet for the player.

Ademola Luqman was a scourge for Real Madrid’s defense all evening and his goal came from one of three shots on goal to bring the most expensive leg of the game.
