Elon Musk called Justin Trudeau an ‘unbearable tool’ after the Canadian prime minister called off re-election Donald Trump a setback for women’s rights.
The relationship between the liberal Trudeau and the conservative Trump has been a source of fascination in recent weekswhere the couple had an apparently friendly Mar-a-Lago meeting followed by Trump’s continued fun to Canada to become the 51st state.
However, the relationship between Trudeau and the new DOGE co-chair Musk has been more straightforward and tense, with Musk previously comparing Trudeau to Hitler.
Trudeau again drew Musk’s ire on Wednesday when his anti-Trump speech went viral.
‘We should be on a steady, if difficult at times, march towards progress. And yet, just a few weeks ago, the United States voted for the second time not to elect its first female president, Trudeau said in Ottawa on Tuesday.
The speech was brought to Musk’s attention on his social media platform X, where he gave a brutal preview of Trudeau’s future.
‘He is such an insufferable tool. Won’t be in power much longer, Musk said.
This is not the first time Musk has tried to troll Trudeau on social media.

In 2022, he compared the prime minister to Hitler in a meme criticizing his crackdown on the Freedom Convoy protests.
Musk, the world’s richest man and cryptocurrency advocate, posted the meme in response to reports that Mounties were trying to freeze crypto wallets linked to the protests.
The image depicts Nazi dictator Hitler with the text: ‘Stop comparing me to Justin Trudeau… I had a budget.’ The reference to a ‘budget’ is unclear and suggests that the meme is recycled from a previous controversy over Canadas public expenditure.
Musk was responding to a report by CoinDesk indicating that the Royal Canadian Mounted Police has ordered Canadian exchanges to cease facilitating transactions from 34 crypto wallets linked to the protests.
While he’s known for edgy humor and blunt assessments, Musk’s comparison of Trudeau to the Nazi leader responsible for the genocide of millions of Jews and starting World War II went too far for many Twitter users.
The American Jewish Committee responded to Musk’s tweet with a call for an immediate apology.

The president-elect referred to the Canadian leader as ‘Governor Justin Trudeau’ in a post to Truth Social Tuesday.
He further trolled him by calling his country ‘the great state of Canada’.
Earlier this month, reports emerged of Trump’s meeting with Trudeau in West Palm Beach, Florida on November 29.
Trudeau told Trump during their meeting that imposing such a large import tax on Canada would completely kill their economy.
To this, the president-elect proposed that Canada become the 51st US state.
The prime minister and others at the table laughed nervously at the suggestion, according to sources who were present.
Trudeau also told Trump that he did not want Canada to be part of the United States because it would be a “very liberal” state. Trump then suggested it might be two separate states, one more conservative and the other liberal, to balance it out.
A Canadian minister, Dominic LeBlanc, clarified that Trump’s comment and the subsequent back-and-forth was a ‘joke’ and was taken as such.

But now the former and incoming US president has repeatedly trolled Trudeau and referred to making Canada a state.
‘It was a pleasure to have dinner the other night with Governor Justin Trudeau of the great state of Canada,’ Trump wrote on Truth Social just after 12 o’clock Tuesday morning.
‘I look forward to seeing the governor again soon so we can continue our in-depth negotiations on tariffs and trade, the results of which will be truly spectacular for everyone!’ he added.
Earlier this month, just a few days after the meeting, Trump also publicly embraced his joke by posting a photo of himself standing next to a Canadian flag overlooking a mountain range.
He captioned the photo: ‘Oh Canada!’
Trump and Trudeau met in Florida last month.
It happened after Trump wrote on social media that he wants to impose a 25 percent tariff on Canada and Mexico if the North American neighbors do not take action to curb illegal crossings to the United States through shared borders.
Crossings from Canada represent a much smaller number of illegal foot traffic than that coming from Mexico, but Trump wants to punish both countries and pressure them to do more to help with the migrant crisis.
In the same post last month, Trump also threatened an additional 10 percent import tariff on China after Beijing did not impose the death penalty on drug dealers which was promised.
Part of Trump’s tough policy proposals related to the border crisis is to stop the flow of deadly Chinese-made fentanyl, which usually enters the United States by drug traffickers to bring it across the southern border.
