Pete Hegeth is being confirmed, have ‘big shoes to fill’: Clark



(Newspring) – nominated for defense secretary Pete Hegeth “Have some big shoes to fill”, if he is confirmed, said former NATO-Did Allied General Wesley Clark on “NewsNation Now.”

“I think it’s the president’s election. That’s our system, the retired four -star general said prior to Friday’s vote in the Senate.

“I think the top ranks in the military will do the best they can to work with the officer or leader appointed over them,” Clark added.

“Pete Hegeth has to prove himself,” Clark said. “He has to earn himself their respect. One thing is to have the office but actually performing the job is another.”

If it is confirmed which Clark thinks is likely, what matters most to Hegeth, who he works with – preferably those with more bureaucratic experience.

“He has to have people around him who he trusts who have that experience,” Clark added. “Because you control a huge bit of bureaucracy … it requires attention to details and management skills.”
