Micheal Vaughan praises Varun Chakravarthy’s brilliance
Impressed by Chakravarthy’s brilliance, Vaughan praised Indian spinner Chakravarthy, highlighting his skillful and deceptive craft. The former England batsman described the Tamil Nadu bowler as a “nice mystery spinner” who took the ball back to the right-handers, sometimes caught one, and often targeted the stumps. While not a huge turner of the ball, his subtle variations make him challenging to deal with. Vaughan highlighted Chakravarthy’s consistency and intelligence, urging England to adopt a different approach to counter him.
“Chakravarthy is a wonderful mystery spinner – a kind of bringing the ball back to right-handers. Every now and then, he would just hold one. He is not a big spinner of the ball, but does enough, which makes it very difficult – often brings the stumps into play. He is very persistent and smart too. England must find a different approach to try to put him under pressure,” Vaughan said in an interview with Cricbuzz.

Vaughan further expressed his admiration for Chakravarthy’s bowling, highlighting his low-key, old-fashioned style of celebration of simply walking out after taking a wicket. “I love watching him bowl because when he gets a wicket, he doesn’t celebrate. He just walked in an old-fashioned kind of celebration, ” once Skipper in England added.
