It is rare these days that former cricketers fight each other over actions during their careers. but Yograj Singhfather of India’s famous all-rounder and former World Cup winner Yuvraj Singhsparked controversy by revealing a shocking incident between him and Kapil Dev. The former Indian captain indirectly responded to Yograj, who did not directly confront him.
Kapil Dev denies identifying Yograj Singh
Dev, is seen heading for an event and starts a discussion with the journalists, who surround him and demand an answer to what Yograj said. The former World Cup winner deliberately did not seem to understand what the reporters wanted to ask.
“Who is this? Who is this? What are you talking about? (Who is he? Who is he? Who are you talking about?” asked Dev, who didn’t seem to know who Yograj was. The paparazzi even told him that they meant Yuvraj’s father Yograj, but Dev seemed to avoid what they wanted to ask.
But it seems the conversation between the former Indian skipper and the media people has reached a point where questions are inevitable for Dev. He then ignores the mention of Yograj from the paparazzi and asks if they want to ask questions from him.
“Accha, and how much? (Anything else)” was the reaction from Dev when reporters mentioned Yograj’s name. Kapil and Yograj have been playing each other for years. In 1977, the selectors chose Yograj over Dev for the India’s U-22 team playing against England in Nagpur. Yograj made his debut in Indian cricket team during the 1980 tour of australian and New Zealand. However, he was mysteriously dropped from the team after the tour. Yograj played his last ODI for India on 15 February 1981 against New Zealand.

What did Yograj Singh say?
In an interview with Samdish Bhatiathe widely popular YouTuber who features a YouTube channel named ‘Unfiltered with Samdish,’ Yograj talks about his relationship with Dev.
“When Kapil Dev became the captain of India, North Zone, and Haryana, he dropped me for no reason. My wife wants me to ask Kapil. I told him I will teach this bloody man a lesson,” Yograj said during the interview.
“I took my pistol; I went to Kapil’s house in Sector 9. He came out with his mom. I abused him a dozen times. I told him because of you I lost a friend and for what you did, you will pay. I told him, ‘I wanted to put a bullet in your head, but I didn’t because you have a very godly mother standing here.’ I told Shabnam, ‘Let’s go’,” he added, revealing the incident that happened between him and Dev.
Yograj added that the two former Indian cricketers have not met or been in touch with each other since. However, after India won the 2011 World Cup, Yograj sent a paper cut to Dev and told him that his son (Yuvraj) was better than Dev.
”Kapil sent me a WhatsApp text saying that we will be brothers in the next life. We will be born from the same mother in the next life. He wants to meet me. But there is revenge, and it still hurts,” Yograj concluded.
