the Bangladesh Cricket Board (BCB) officially revealed the national squad for the future ICC Men’s Champions Trophy 2025scheduled to be hosted by Pakistan and the United Arab Emirates. This announcement marks an important step as Bangladesh prepares to compete against some of the best cricket teams in the world in this prestigious One-Day International (ODI) tournament.
Under the leadership of Najmul Hossain Shantowho will captain the side, Bangladesh has named a 15-member squad that mixes experience with youth. Najmul captained the team in the tournament, returning to the role afterwards Mehidy Hasan Miraz filled in for him in the previous bilateral series. He has recovered from the groin injury sustained last November.
Litton Das was not included in the 15-member squad. The decision follows concerns over the wicketkeeper-batter’s poor form, as Bangladesh’s chief selector admitted. Gazi Ashraf Hossain in December. Litton scored just six runs in three ODIs in the Caribbean. With his absence, Jake Ali expected to take over the wicketkeeping duties.
Apart from Najmul, Mushfiqur Rahim, Towhid Hridoyand Mustafizur Rahman rejoined the squad after missing the 3-0 ODI series loss to the West Indies last month. Both Rahim and Hridoy returned in time for the tournament after injury. Veteran Rahim is back after recovering from a finger injury, while Hridoy, like his captain, is recovering from a groin injury.
